If you're considering trusting me with your vacation, I think it's only fair that you know a little about the person behind Getaway Girl Destinations.
I'm Rachel Falgout. I'm the Getaway Girl, and helping people has been the foundation of my entire career.
For nearly 25 years, I worked for Boys & Girls Clubs of America at the national headquarters, where I had the opportunity to serve in a variety of leadership roles. During that time, I planned and managed national conferences and large-scale events attended by thousands of people from across the United States. My responsibilities included hotel and venue negotiations, contract management, transportation logistics, budgeting, vendor coordination, risk management, event operations, and making sure every detail came together seamlessly.
Those experiences taught me that successful events and successful vacations have something in common. They don't happen by accident. They happen because someone is paying attention to the details long before anyone else notices them.
Today, I bring that same mindset to every trip I plan.
Whether it's a honeymoon, destination wedding, family vacation, group getaway, cruise, or once in a lifetime adventure, I believe thoughtful planning allows you to spend less time worrying about logistics and more time making memories.
When I'm not planning travel, you'll usually find me spending time with my partner, Will Bailey. We both enjoy traveling, discovering new restaurants, working in the yard, and dreaming about where we'll go next. He's the creative mind behind his own marketing company, so conversations around our house often include everything from branding ideas to travel destinations.
I also continue consulting with nonprofit organizations and teaching swim lessons because serving others has always been an important part of who I am. No matter what role I've held throughout my career, the common thread has always been helping people feel confident, prepared, and supported.
Friends would probably describe me as organized, dependable, curious, and always planning the next adventure. I'm just as happy exploring a small town on a scenic road trip as I am walking through a world class city or relaxing with an ocean view. I enjoy gardening, spending time outdoors, visiting National Parks, and finding those hidden gems that don't always make the front page of a travel guide.
One of my favorite parts of being a travel advisor is getting to know my clients. Every traveler is different. Some want every minute planned. Others prefer a flexible itinerary with room to explore. Some dream of relaxing on a beach, while others want to experience the history, culture, and food that make a destination unique.
There isn't a one size fits all vacation, and I don't believe there should be.
My goal is simple. I want to make travel feel exciting, personal, and stress free. I want you to feel confident that someone is looking out for your best interests before, during, and after your trip.
Travel has given me some of the most meaningful experiences of my life, and it's a privilege to help others create those same kinds of memories.
Thank you for stopping by and taking the time to get to know me. I hope we'll have the opportunity to plan something unforgettable together.
